Chicago South Loop Museum Park condo & Lakefront views

Living in a South Loop Condo in Museum Park has it’s bonuses!  Love the views everyday.  Glessner House in Prairie District, The South Loop Lake Michigan Lakeshore in Museum Campus, South Loop’s Burnham harbor and another view from a 1201 S Prairie Avenue condo.

Investors are even looking at the South Loop as a great investment.  The numbers work in South Loop condo and South Loop loft buildings that allow rentals.  A quieter neighborhood than the bustling Chicago Loop yet close to all that is happening.  Contact me if you are contemplating a move to or from the South Loop Museum Park area, I would love to help you!

Live in Old Town Chicago for less than it would cost you to rent a 1 bedroom condo. Contact me to see if you qualify for free :-)

So many people I talk to say it costs so much more to own their own home or condo in Old Town Chicago.  Right now there are so many financing programs where you can put as low as 3.5% down and sometimes less after seller credits (ask me about it).  After you figure out your mortgage payment, taxes, assessments and insurance many times your payment is less that rent and you are paying off your own mortgage and not your landlords.  Plus there are tax advantages.  I knew even before I was in Real Estate that owning your own property has many advantages.

This Old Town condo  at 1636 N Wells, Chicago is listed at $245k with a view of Old Town Chicago and Lincoln Park neighborhood and beyond.  You can walk to Lincoln Park Zoo, North Avenue Beach and the lakefront and lakefront trail, Restaurants including The Vig, Lady Gregory and Orzo’s (check out their garden patio in the back) which are some of my favorites, shopping and you are only a little over a mile from the Chicago Loop.  In the heart of it all.

Contact me and I can help you purchase a property in Old Town or the surrounding area.  If you are thinking of selling your property in Old Town or Lincoln Park area, I can help you with that too.

Chicago South Loop area – Chicago Athletic Association Club/Hotel

I had the honor of going for a tour with the Chicago Architecture foundation of the Chicago Athletic Association Club/Hotel.  The architecture and beauty is breathtaking!  Spanning the outside, front entrance (the hotel check-in is on the second floor), halls, bars, rooms, party rooms and terrace of the Chicago Athletic Association everywhere you look is more beautiful!

This is a historic landmark in Chicago with so much beauty and history.  Distinguished members have enjoyed the Club for over a hundred years but now it is open to the public to enjoy.  have visited the hotel a few times with friends for dinner and drinks and to enjoy Cindy’s Rooftop view and ambiance.  Cindy’s was named after their mother Cindy and the Andy Warhol of Cindy is an original hanging in the separate party room with the fireplace.

The hotel was renovated by the Pritzker’s over many years, they preserved everything they could with no expenses spared.  The architecture and details throughout are magnificent. The hotel had a pool that famous members enjoyed which they remodeled into another entertainment room.  One of the bars/game room has pool tables, games, bocce ball with one of the original logos for the Chicago Athletic Association which was purchased and is now the Chicago Cubs logo. Most of the logos throughout the club have been revised.  The Milk room bar is what you would think, a quiet little bar tucked away that used to sell milk ( 🙂  ).  The Cherry Circle room is another tucked away bar which has been restored to it’s original look and feel.  The library is open to the public to study, read or just relax in the beauty of it all, I have attached some photos which do not give it justice.

If you are living in Chicago or thinking about moving to Chicago or just visiting, put The Chicago Athletic Association on your places to visit, admire, dine at, have cocktails or stay at.

Thinking about moving to this great city?  Contact me and I can help you find a South Loop Condo or loft, Loop condo or loft, Old Town condo or loft, Lincoln Park home or any surrounding area or type home.

Chicago Public Art throughout the city

Everywhere you look in Chicago especially in the Loop area there is beautiful and interesting art work.  Outside along the Lake Michigan lakefront, in parks like Millenium Park, Grant Park and so many more, along streets, buildings inside Libraries, Police stations and other buildings throughout our beautiful city.  Many building, bridges and structures are also a work of art or have works of art incorporated within their structures.

I enjoy art and can’t see and enjoy enough of it.  I have many pictures I have taken and after finding this great guide by The City of Chicago called The City of Chicago Public Art Guide. I am on a journey to see as much of it I can.  It is crazy that I have been only a few hundred feet from so man of these without knowing it.  I also have found a lot that is not here.  So art lovers…if you don’t live here, come visit us and enjoy just another great thing about our city.

Here are a few of my photos of Art in and around The Chicago Loop, The Chicago South Loop, Grant Park and more.

Thinking about moving to this great city?  Contact me and I can help you find a South Loop Condo or loft, Loop condo or loft, Old Town condo or loft, Lincoln Park home or any surrounding area or type home.

Chicago South Loop Museum Park Real Estate market stats Jan/Feb 2017

Chicago South Loop Museum Park Real Estate market stats for January and February of 2017 are showing a slight slow down of properties being sold.  Prices coming down slightly for South Loop lofts and condos and a little more inventory then in the past months.  Interest rates crept up a little and I would think that had something to do with less buyers in the South Loop area.  The stats are showing that we are almost even with last years figures.  It is hard to predict what will happen this year.  Experts have said we will see increased prices by the end of the year but there are so many factors that go into our stats that we cannot control or predict.

Chicago – South Loop Museum Park

I am looking forward to spring/summer in Chicago’s South Loop Museum Park area.  There is so much to do and see.  Within walking distance of the South Loop Museum Campus, the lakefront, Millenium Park, Grant Park, Soldier Field,  McCormick Place, the South Loop is experiencing a rush of young professionals and families that want to work and enjoy their free time close to home. A visit to the Field Museum; dance lessons and dancing under the stars or a free concert at Millennium Park; walking/running/biking along the lake shore past museums, harbors and beaches, or strolling down Michigan Avenue past the shops. restaurants and more.  Not to mention all the beautiful architecture of Chicago .   I love living here, my favorite Chicago sites are so close.   Builders are trying to keep up with the rush of people trying to move to the South Loop by building new condos and apartments.   The South Loop area is growing quickly but still has the neighborhood quiet feeling.  Walking the streets to enjoy the homes, parks, condos and businesses is a peaceful experience.  I think the lure of the Chicago South Loop Museum Park area will continue to grow as time goes on.

Some of my favorite photos from my strolls through the neighborhood.

Chicago Museum Park – Armand’s Victory Tap South Loop

My first visit to Chicago Museum Park‘s – Armand’s Victory Tap South Loop.  Now one of my favorite spots.  We sat at the bar as it was a busy time with no reservations but that was just perfect.  We didn’t feel cramped and the staff and ambiance was great.  High ceilings with great architecture and design, seating spread out a little and the lighting was perfect. An upscale place to go with not so upscale pricing.  Everything we had was delicious.  You can stop in for drinks, drinks and appetizers, pizza (a huge selection of appetizer size), salads, home made pastas and dinners.

We tried the Grandma’s meatballs which were just like my moms only the size of baseballs 🙂 , Calamari Calabrese with just enough spice, Casaccio Nova appetizer pizza mmmm,  home made ravioli absolutely perfect and delicious!

I can’t wait to go back….

When you try it and if you don’t live in the South Loop Museum Park area and want to live there, contact me and I can help you find a Museum Park condo or South loop loft etc in the area.

Chicago Museum Park South Loop Condo Market 2016

Median Sales Price Museum Park South Loop homes vs General MLS for 2016. Prices have come down slightly over the last year. Supply is still low and getting, South Loop Museum Park condo sales are steady. The South Loop condos that are selling are the units priced the most aggressively out of all active on the market. Interest rates just came down a little so hopefully that will spark some interest from buyers sitting on the fence over the holidays and during the political changes.

If you are looking to buy or sell your South Loop condo or Loft/home contact me for a free South Loop Museum Park market consultation. If you are looking to buy a condo or Loft in the South Loop area, contact me as I can help you. The seller pays the buyers agent so our services in most cases are free for you.

Chicago South Loop Museum Park view from sailing on Lake Michigan.

I had the pleasure of spending an evening sailing from Burnham harbor in the South Loop Museum Park with some friends on Lake Michigan north past navy pier and south to Hyde Park.  The views were spectacular!

Chicago South Loop Museum Park Housing market stats

Chicago South Loop – Museum Park housing market has been improving overall over the last year.  The key is pricing, many sellers are realistic about where they should be priced and their South loop loft and condos are selling quickly.  Some are overpriced and just sit on the market.  Inventory of South Loop condos and lofts is low so you can see that the prices are increasing.  Market time is starting to creep up in South Loop’s Central Station though as many other areas across the country.
